Meet The Instructors

Miss Kristi L. Smith-High

Kristi L. Smith-High, is the Artistic Director and owner of Kristi's Academy of Dance. She has been involved in all areas of dance, gymnastics & cheerleading from amateur to professional levels for the past 20 years. Miss Kristi has competed and performed in several dance, gymnastics and cheerleading events. As a professional she has choreographed for such events as "LATE NIGHT" with ROY WILLIAMS at the University of Kansas, judged for National Cheer and Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida and taught for various High School teams and National Organizations such as the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders and the National Cheer/Dance Association. She provides instruction to award-winning cheerleading, dance squads and local pageants. Miss Kristi is an accomplished performer, teacher and choreographer who brings to all her work a passion to share and express the arts of dance and acrobatics.

Miss Kristi has coached students who now are members of high school and college cheer squads. There are current National Dance Scholarship and Championship Tumbling Top Honor winners attending Kristi's Academy of Dance. Miss Kristi is Head Coach of the Kristi's Academy of Dance Award Winning Competitive Tumbling Team and director/choreographer of her own performing dance troupe, The "K" Company, who perform for audiences throughout the Kansas City Metro Area.

Miss Kristi is a former member of the University of Missouri Spirit Squad, University of Kansas Cheer Squad and the St. Louis Rams Coed Stunt Team. She is currently a second year "Wizard Girl" for the 2000 MLS Soccer Champions, the Kansas City Wizards!

Miss Kristi's mission statement is to provide young people with an outlet to express their creativity and individuality through the arts of dance and tumbling while stressing discipline in these arts and instilling high character traits that will last a lifetime.

Miss Kristi is young, energetic and dynamic and DYNAMIC excitement are what her classes consist of.
